Beyond Blue from San Diego features a kickass rhythm section backing Joe Norwoods blistering blues guitars and Virginia Norwood's hot, raw vocals. Beyond Blue's high energy style combines elements of blues, rock and R&B that harkens back to a blues rock era gone by while remaining fresh, without a hint of nostalgia.
Joe and Virginia Norwood (formerly BG Parsons) are now in their 12th year of collaboration. Rod Underhill, founder of Red Raven Records, was so impressed by Beyond Blue's live performance that he insisted they record their first record live and brought in Glenn Taylor, of Taylor Made Music to record Live At Etta's.
