You know all those morning news shows? Do you despise them as much as I do? Then you ought to tune into Imus in the Morning on MSNBC. He's on from 6am - 10am. I never really knew who he was until I started watching it with my husband. We have been working together full time for about six months now. Anyway, he likes Imus, so I started paying attention.
Don Imus is a crotchety, grumpy man who likes to rant, but who is a good person. He has a ranch out in New Mexico where kids who have cancer work with horses. The ranch has a real "western" town feel. Many corporations and individuals have contributed money to help build the ranch.
When I mentioned ranting, I wasn't kidding. There was a one show where he ranted about a hotel in Pennsylvania that wouldn't forward his wife's calls to his room. He couldn't believe she had to keep calling because the staff didn't think she was really Mrs. Imus. He was very pissed off. Or the week he played Dixie Chicks over and over again. It was really irritating.
For all his rants and raves, he gives his honest opinion on anything. I think that's what I like best. He's not afraid to tell someone off, even if he is wrong. He has an array of callers, from Tim Russet to Laura Ingraham. He also has people come in the studio. Oh yeah, did I mention that the show is broadcast on the radio and they just set up cameras while he does his show? That is really cool.
