Dawn and Dusk

With stars still twinkling in the sky,
At early dawn, with stars still twinkling in the sky,
We walk along, my hand in his, Granddad and I,
Out to the pond. The day is still a-borning.

No warmer glow than lanterns in the morning.

At twilight time, with fireflies dancing in the sky,
We walk along, his hand in mine, Grandson and I,
Down to the creek. The night beyond conceiving.

No sweeter smell than lilacs in the evening.
