Here is some news from the political graveyard. Democrats
in Cabell County, West Virginia, voted overwhelmingly to
renominate the late Dallen Fields to the office of sheriff.
The former sheriff is as dead as the Democratic Party is
becoming in some parts of this country. Nevertheless, the
dead sheriff is now the Party's nominee for that office.
The other Democratic candidate for sheriff was Alvie
Qualls. Although his qualifications surpassed those of the
late Dallen Fields,(Mr. Qualls is alive and healthy), the
voters resoundingly rejected him. How humiliated must
Alvie Qualls be feeling in the election's aftermath!
