Here are some questions I have for the American people, why is it;
That every poll says the public wants a Patients Bill of Rights with
real safeguards yet we don't have one yet.
Why is it that every poll shows the American people support an
increase in the minimum wage yet the Republican congress will not let
a bill doing so get to the floor for a vote.
Why is it that every poll shows that the public opposes federal
subsidies for tobacco farmers yet we still have them?
Why is it that every poll says the public wants Social Security to
continue as a government run program but the Republicans and George
Jr. want to privatize it. (For an example of what will happen if they
succeed Minnesota is in the third year of a 5 year trial project of
privatizing the management of the states Medicaid program and during
the first two years the management costs of the program rose by 143%)
Why is it that the public supports by a huge % a prescription drug
plan being added to Social Security but the Republicans leadership
will not let a real plan get to the floor for a vote.
Why is it that every poll says the American public wants any tax
breaks to be for the poor and middle class yet the Republican plans
all have 90% of the tax break going to 1% of the wealthiest people in
America.
Why is it that every poll says the American public supports campaign
finance reform yet the Republican congress won't let even token
reforms reach the floor for a vote.
The answer is that the Republican party leaders in the house and
senate have been bought and paid for by big corporations and the rich
and could care less what the average person wants or needs.
