Brickyard 400
With Bobby Labonte winning the brickyard 400 Saturday it seems that
he wants Winston points for the championship really bad this year. I
started watching this Saturday with great hope for one of two drivers,
Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon But they where both taken out in the 15th
lap. Martin went into the turn to fast for what he was trying to do
and was hit from behind and spun out and hit the wall. As the result
of this he finished last.
Jeff was not a part of this wreck, he did hit a car that was spinning
out trying not to hit the other cars that were in this crash, and
took out the front end of his car. Gordon was sporting a new paint
job in celebration of the peanut 50th birthday. Jeff started off at
29th and finished 33rd as Martin Started off at 12th and was the first
one out of the nascar race.
Bobby wore out Rusty Wallace for a long
time before Rusty handed over the lead. I t was a quit boring race
with only two wrecks and only about four drivers ever leading the
Nascar's Brickyard 400. There was no race to finish it was Bobby by
about 5 seconds ahead of Rusty Wallace.
Jerry Nadeau finishes in fourth place it was one of his best Nascar
finishes. He put on a real good effort there at the end of the race
but came up a little short. Darrell Waltrip as some of you may know,
this is his last year. He staring out in 2nd, and put up a good race
it however was not to be his day just missing the top 10 it was a
great effort.
The point's race this year is going to be the race to
watch, 1. Bobby Labonte 2825 2. Dale Jarrett 2772 3. Dale Earnhardt
2718 4. Jeff Burton 2624 5. Rusty Wallace 2557 6. Tony Stewart 2540
7. Ward Burton 2535 8. Jeff Gordon 2518 9. Mark Martin 2487 10. Ricky
Rudd 2468 This is closer than the race that I saw on Saturday. All
I know is that this is going to be a close one Nascar should be proud
of the performance of it's racers and the crows that they have drawn.
