Nascar
Today's Nascar is a little different then a couple of years ago, when everyone was watching to see if Jeff Gordon could be knocked off by someone. Today people are watching to see if Jeff and his Rainbow Warriors can pull off a win. With only Two wins to his team this year old Jeff isn't quit the driver we all though he was. With everyone thinking he was the Tiger Woods of Nascar he has not lived up to the hype this year unlike Tiger.
With Rusty Wallace winning the last race and Tony Stewart winning the one before it seems the shift in power so to speak has shifted away from the Rainbow Warriors. If Jeff and his team plan on being the points champion they had better do something dramatic to improve there racing performance.
At one time I was a Gordon fan, being the same age as Gordon I pulled for him to win just because every other driver was so much older than he was. But now the field is full of young drivers. Racing is the only sport where you can participate at and age that you couldn't at any other sport. In Baseball or Football anyone over 40 was considered to old to play, but in Nascar the majorette of the drivers are in their 30's or older. It has nothing to do with age it's about how well you can drive and how lucky you are.
I know some people may say that there's no luck involved in racing but I believe that there is. With a couple of deaths this year I would say that their luck ran out and on a personal note I would like to tell the families how sorry I am for their lost.
With only 15 more races this year and Jeff being the Defending Champion of three of these races they need to pick up the pace. I would really love to see the Rainbow Warriors and Jeff win the points again this year but without some major changes I really don't see it happening.
With only one win this year Dale Earnhardt is third in the point's race, while Jeff and his team are 8th. The Rainbow Warriors need a couple of wins under their belt before too much longer or time is going to run out on them.
Bobby Labonte is currently 2825 points and Jeff's at 2518,I can see a come back but time is not on their side. With 6 top 3 finishes and one win Bobby Labonte has remained consistent throughout the year, unlike Gordon with his 2 wins and one top three wins the victory lane is something that Jeff has not seen in quit as much as he had come used to.
