David Wells for Roger Clements

The Big NewYorker

Okay so I was willing to give the Yank's the benefit of the doubt when the first traded away David Wells in exchange for "the Rocket". Granted Clements was the most dominant pitcher of his generation, but sadly it appears his generation has passed… Also Wells was New York - big and balding, tough and clutch. Is there anyone out there that does not think this was one of the worst trades in Yankee history? And that's really saying something! Watching the Yankees this past year and a half it is obvious that they miss all 250+ pounds of Wells not to mention his 13 wins ( six in a row!) by the all-star break. The Yanks on the other hand have now lost three in a row and nine of twelve and Roger is on this disabled list. They could use any good starting pitching - Dave Justice is a good hitter, but he can't pitch for shit. Chalk up another one for Steinbrenner
